I want to know the truth, I want to know why my brothers and
sisters graduating from top universities are forced to leave this
country to earn a decent living, while sons and daughters of
thieves get to drive the latest cars, I want to know why potential
geniuses are forced to leave this country, I want to know why I was
forced to leave this country in the past, I want the truth...
I don't care who killed your father, instead I want to know who
killed my country, I want an international tribunal, I want an
international investigation, to find the murderers who killed my
country, I'm sure you can finance it, after all “li ajal
lebnen”, and if the parliament doesn't ratify, I want 70
lawmakers to sign and petition in front of the United Nations, I
want the truth...
It's sad, sad to see how people are being manipulated, sad to see
the whole world advance and yet we are stuck in this endless
loophole, a loophole where the only exit is thought to be through
the elimination of the other, sad to see such a generation born and
raised in war and terror, sad to see a fellow Lebanese kill
another, sad to see brothers killing each other, but why? What has
filled them with such anger and disgust? Who is to be blamed? I
blame the so called “leaders”, one is a
“doctor”, the other a “general”, another
has an airport named after him, others are “sheikhs”
and “patriarchs”, I blame the lawmakers, I blame anyone
who is in power, or ever was in power, they are all playing the
same game on our expense. I blame myself for not educating the
ignorants, for not opening their eyes, consequently their thoughts
and minds...
I want airports named after people like Gebran Tueni, I want state
funerals for the real victims, such as the heroes who died in
Ain-Allaq for no reason, I want a wall in martyrs square with their
names carved honorably on it so they can be remembered throughout
history, I want freedom of speech, where newspapers would dare
publish such papers on their front page, I want an independent
Lebanon, a Lebanon free from all sorts of foreign interference, a
Lebanon so powerful that religions can't shake it. I want the
truth, I don't want funds from other countries, I want them to
investigate and forcefully judge the animals who sucked the blood
of my country, Lebanon will only flourish once they are all gone, I
want The Truth...
