I did this mod around a month ago, really easy and straightforward, all u need is an lcd screen (car tvs work great), i used a 5.6" car tv for mine, took it apart and removed all the ugly plastics from the outside... I was left with the chrome shielding from the inside and considering that i'm thinking of painting my case black, i was satisfied with the design... Here are some pictures, i think this hasn't been done by anyone else yet, i've searched on google for a while and had no luck so hopefully its one of kind :)
