Some SEO tips and updates

Whyyyy! My google page rank went down from 4 to 3 a couple of weeks ago, the sad thing is that I was expecting it to go to 5 since I was getting linked more and more from other blogs... What I've learned from having a page rank 3 is that google doesn't update your google webmaster account often, my incoming links page hasn't been updated since I got the pr3 which is really annoying, neither has my top ranking keywords page, but the crawling is still the same... Sooo I've taken a totally different approach now, SEO is mainly trial and error i guess, you change things, if they work, you stick to them, if not you let them go...

To be honest I'm not very sad because another interesting thing happened with the page rank update, my internal pages now have rankings, my msn password tool page has a page rank of 4, others have 3, which I believe is a good thing, therefore i think my page rank got splitted amongst all my pages.

What I did wrong

I became a Text Link Ad affiliate (its not really a bad thing but my site was weak already), and started to sell links on my site (the ads are on the left bottom) these are direct links and well i'm sure they ruined my page rank, another thing i've done is added "Latest Posts" and "Popular" on the main page, which are also links but i'm not quite sure if those will hurt my page rank since they point to links on my site, same domain, but then again i'm not really sure...

I'm now looking forward for the next page rank update, I've heard Google does it every 3 months, I'm curious on what will happen this time since i've been linked by very high ranked pages (pr 6,7,8) and respected blogs by very generous people, one generous blog is OneMansBlog.com It's a very interesting blog, and the gentleman owning the blog (John Pozadzides aka The Man) rewards the top commenters with direct links! I would recommend my readers to take a look at his blog. Other than that, I started to put my link when commenting on blogs, I never did that before as I cared less and was usually to lazy to type hehe but being knocked down by my new pr, now I need all those incoming links =0)

For people who want to exchange links, email me at admin at dngloz com, I'm pretty confident this time that during the next update, my pr would hopefully reach pr5!

I also realised the design of the site is kind of childish, and therefore I will work on changing the whole platform, I'm currently using Joomla, which I realised is not very blogger friendly, it's more for a community website... Therefore expect a completely new design and platform since I'm thinking of installing WordPress, which is a lot more blogger friendly...
